CJC provides mediation in a wide variety of situations. These include disputes about property following separation and disputes between extended family members, as well as disputes involving neighbours, debts, associations and workplaces. The service is free of charge and there is no waiting list. Mediation sessions are arranged at locations convenient to the parties. CJC also offers mediation by telephone when parties are located in different areas. CJC can provide Family Dispute Resolution in some cases – please contact us to inquire.

Parent Line NSW provides telephone counselling, parenting strategies and referrals for parents and carers of children aged 0-18 across NSW. Our counsellors assist parents going through separation to address issues arising for children such as difficult behaviour, emotional difficulties, transitions from one home to another as well as mental health concerns.
We are open 9am to 9pm Mondays to Fridays and 4pm to 9pm at weekends and our counsellors are all fully trained professionals with a wealth of experience in assisting families through difficult transitions.

Kelly Stanford is the principal lawyer of the firm and is assisted by a great team of Lawyers and Support Staff.

The program helps women aged over 18 living in the Wollongong Local Government area to separate from a violent relationship and remain safely in their own home or a home of their choice. Women can access this program whether they have children or not.
Family Services Illawarra offers a range of specialist services and advice through our Staying Home Leaving Violence Program, to give women and their children long-term support to address the impacts of domestic violence on their lives.
Some of the services provided under the program include:
– Safety audits to improve the security of the home.
– Information on alternate accommodation and services for the excluded person.
– Information and support on Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVOs), family law matters and how to use Court Orders effectively to enhance the women’s safety.
Staying Home Leaving Violence can support women to navigate the legal system to apply for an Exclusion Condition in their ADVO, so they can live safely in their own home. It can also assist women to report any breaches of the ADVO to the Police and provide support through the Family Court process.

Wollongong Women’s Information Service (WWIS) provides information about, and referral to a wide range of support services across the 3 LGAs of the Illawarra. We provide information and referral by telephone, face to face, via email and through our website.
We provide assistance and support to women in the Illawarra who are, or have been, victims of domestic and family violence and women who are experiencing isolation, marginalisation, disadvantage and other issues that affect their lives.
We offer women a range of education and support programs as well as resources and facilities for women, including access to computers, internet, fax, photocopier and access to a meeting space for meetings, workshops and activities free of charge.

Illawarra Women’s Domestic Violence Court Advocacy Service. Assisting women and children who are or have been experiencing domestic violence to obtain effective legal protection through applications for Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVOs).•Support and advocacy services for women and children seeking help and information about getting protection from the court from domestic violence. Court advocacy support is available on AVO list days at Wollongong, Port Kembla, Albion Park and Kiama local courts for women seeking an ADVO. Support at hearings is also provided where possible. Workers are available from Aboriginal and Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds
•Free legal representation is available at court for women seeking private ADVO’s who are eligible for legal aid and are existing clients of the Court Advocacy Service. Legal advice is also available at court for women with Police initiated ADVO’s on matters such as family law, child support, and property, upon referral from the Court Advocacy Service
