About Us
The Illawarra and Southern Highlands Family Law Pathways Networks (‘ISHFLPN’) aims to support practitioners to work collaboratively, maintain strong working relationships and develop appropriate referral mechanisms to assist separating or separated families navigate the broader Family Law system in the Illawarra and Southern Highlands regions. We meet our aims by coordinating sector training, organising events and the developing and distributing resources.
Our Network covers the Illawarra region in New South Wales, from Helensburg in the North to Shellharbour in the South, and the Southern Highlands region in New South Wales, from Balmoral in the North to Wingello in the South.
Each year the Network coordinates sector training through seminars, workshops, training days and conferences. Most events, many of which are free or subsidised by the Government, attract professional development points.
Our Network is managed by a local steering committee which draws expertise across government, non-government and legal organisations to serve our Networks 250+ member organisations and professionals. Members comprise of family relationship services, the family courts, legal services, government agencies, private practitioners in both legal and non-legal sectors and other related community-based organisations such as family violence services, Indigenous services, and men’s and women’s behaviour change groups.
